To clarify...

OK, no more political forum here after this, even though I do like hearing from friends and their views - I'll just save that for email! Until then, I'd like to clarify my last post. What I meant by openly dissing - both sides are always dissing - was lacking concrete facts to support a diss, don't just go and downplay somebody's job. What Palin said comparing her job as mayor to Obama's as community organizer wasn't even a good defense to her detractors and seemed silly; she was unintentionally comparing apples to apples.

Politics! P-SH! Off I go to read all of the candidates' convention speeches, check out websites, etc. (not right this minute unfortunately, I'm at work)!

I know...it really is too bad that they were bashing positions. I think they should be tackling issues and not each other.

Oh, that was Karen, not Brady.

Oh man! I've been working on a blog post for a couple of weeks that I haven't yet had the guts to actually post. Some of this stuff gets me so fired up, but particularly the slam against community organizers. I'd rather see a nation of people initiating change on a local level than assume that we have to wait for someone with money and a title to assume a public office to do that work. Palin's attitude implies that we need a political "maverick" (snooze...overused...) to create change, when I think we just need empowered and passionate people! Ugh! I'm anxiously awaiting November to see whether or not Jon and I need to leave the country for four years. :)
